Fast Forward is a piece written for flute and cello. It explores the sound and sensation of pressing the “Fast Forward” or “Rewind” buttons on a cassette tape. Rather than simply imitating these effects, the piece reinterprets them through rapidly shifting tempi and blurred gestures, focusing on how speed can obscure clarity—both in sound and in message.
